Cinematic Singing - Part 2/4

Here we have Candace singing the Tin Man’s version of the song on the movie. I imagine that Candace is the only one who enjoys hearing herself sing.

Cinematic Singing - Part 1/4

It’s been a while since I’ve seen The Wizard of Oz, but I’ve seen it often enough to feel confident enough to write up this little story (but I did resort to online searches to see that I got the musical lyrics verbatim). When I was very young, we recorded the movie onto a V.H.S. tape (you remember V.H.S., right?), and my brother and I watched the movie frequently.

I’m not a jewelry wearer, but I think that if I was, I’d take it all off before going swimming (I know of one wedding ring sitting at the bottom of a lake). I decided that Candace is the same way, and came up with a possible idea of why.

I keep telling myself that, in the interest of maintaining human interactions, I will swear off any and all self checkouts (no luck as of this writing). I got to wondering how cashiers, like Candace’s roommate, feel about automated versions of themselves. Once upon a time, Henry Ford utilized the assembly line in which many human workers combined to create automobiles. Today robots have ousted almost every human being on the line.

The “I’ve drawn your bath” joke in this cartoon was borrowed from an episode of the 1990s animated series Batman, which was set on April Fools’ Day. The joke fell flat in both cartoons, but, unfortunately for Candace, hers led to some roughing up.

Either Candace would have made a good drill sergeant or she would have made a good private…or maybe bodybuilder. I don’t know.

For me it seems to be blues and greens I have a little trouble telling apart. Either that, or several others have that problem, and I’m always correctly identifying colors. There’s just that one area in the spectrum between blue and green where it gets tricky to say what’s what.

I think a lot of comic strips feature summertime battles with two (or more) combatants trying to soak each other in as creative ways as possible. This round goes to Candace (sorry, Meg).
